The Milwaukie Poetry Series is delighted to continue our Seventeenth Season
with a reading by John Daniel on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. His reading will
be in the Community Room at the Ledding Library of Milwaukie at 10660 SE Main St. In
Milwaukie, OR 97222 at 6 PM. It will also be livestreamed on the Ledding Library
YouTube Channel. The reading will then be available for viewing on demand on the
Ledding Library YouTube Channel.

John Daniel is the author of eleven books of poetry, essays, memoir, and fiction.
His most recent are Lighted Distances: Four Seasons on Goodlow Rim, a book of poetry
published in April 2023, and Gifted, a novel set in rural western Oregon. A former Wallace
Stegner Fellow in Poetry at Stanford University, Daniel has taught creative writing at
colleges and universities across the country. His books have won three Oregon Book
Awards, a Pacific Northwest Booksellers Award, and a fellowship from the National
Endowment for the Arts. He lives in the Coast Range foothills west of Eugene, Oregon,
and at times over the mountains in juniper and ponderosa pine country east of Bonanza,
where Lighted Distances found voice. You can learn more about him by contacting him
