Reading Submissions Procedure
The Milwaukie Poetry Series sponsors poetry readings on the second Wednesday of the month, September through June.
These readings by local Oregon poets are hosted at the Ledding Library in downtown Milwaukie. Reading are approximately 40 minutes in length with a Questions and Answer period following. They are recorded and play on the Ledding Library YouTube Channel.
To be considered for a reading poets must have recently published a book of poetry or demonstrated an equivalent poetic achievement, such as winning a chapbook or spoken word competition or publication of six or more poems in a poetry publication.

The poet should include a stamped, self addressed envelope with their submission if they want the book (s) returned.
Submissions sent by May 15, 2026 will be considered for the 2026-2027 Season.
Submissions sent after that date will be considered for the following Season.
Poets will be notified by email of the result. Books of poets not selected for a reading in the current season may remain on the consideration list for the following season.
Poets may be asked to participate in other Milwaukie Poetry Series events if they would like at the discretion of the Milwaukie Poetry Series.
